Building roofs is quite technical and so sometimes we use technical language. Sorry about that. However, to keep things simple we've designed a manual to explain and translate many of the commonplace words and terms used in the conservatory industry.
Each reference includes a list of alternative words ("also known as"), a full description of the product/component and, where relevant, a picture to illustrate its relevance.

Also known as: Corner Infil, an abutment is the place where one of the sides of a conservatory is touching an existing wall
Also known as: Knock-on, Clip-on. A 'set size' window/door profile that attached to the outer edge of an outer profile.
Also known as: Brick vent. A brick size air ventilator that allows fresh air to enter a cavity.
Also known as: Cavity size Airspace refers to the distance between an inner and outer pane of glass in a sealed unit.
Also known as: Standard float glass. Standard float glass is normal 4mm float glass; i.e. not toughened and used in 'ordinary' windows.
Also known as: Ridge, Top of roof. The highest point. Typically the ridge.
Also known as: Gas filled. Argon units describe the insulating glass between an inner and outer pane of a sealed unit.
