UK Technical Sales Manager - Ultrapanel

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our Ultrapanel business based in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

Ultrapanel’s patented technology, comprising of structurally insulated panelised walls, is delivering exponential growth in the home improvement market. The technology has recently been accredited for use in new build housing and as part of our ambitious growth plans, we are now seeking an experienced candidate who is excited and driven by an emerging technology that is set to reshape the construction of new build housing.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the business, with responsibility and autonomy for driving our client portfolio and pipeline, creating genuine opportunity for career growth.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven track record in business development within the housebuilding industry, preferably with experience in timber frame or related sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge, ability to understand and efficiently convey technical information between clients, consultants and internal design team, for e.g. thermal values, structural calculations, and technical drawings.
  • Experience coordinating with design, manufacturing, and installation teams to deliver solutions that meet client expectations and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive sales growth and expand our customer base.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction market.
  • Lead on Ultrapanel Know-How with clients, consultants and sub-contractors: Effective communication at meetings, site visits and alike to explain how the technology works.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact. Understand their requirements, address concerns, and proactively seek opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with clients, their consultants, stakeholders and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution from initial enquiry to completion.
  • Remain up to date with building regulations and up-coming industry changes, regularly disseminating this information to the business.
  • Collaborate with the marketing teams to develop strategic plans to expand our client base and increase market share (including builders, developers, contractors and consultants).
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to timber frame and other off-site construction methods. Use market insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our brand, services and contribute to wider awareness and adoption the Ultrapanel technology.
  • Support and promote the businesses environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong housing industry network.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders, including present at a senior level.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated and proactive.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
