How is a Livinroof constructed?

Time is of the essence when you are installing a roof. You want to get the roof up and make it watertight as quickly as possible to minimise disruption and keep the rain off the interior.

Ultraframe’s Livinroof has been designed with this in mind, so the roof is up and watertight within just a couple of hours without any loss of quality.

The structure
The framework of the Livinroof is based on Ultraframe’s best-selling Classic roof system. This system has been installed in more than 2 million homes across the UK, and is famed for its strength and rigidity in all weathers.

The materials

To construct the solid part of the Livinroof, we use a combination of insulated composite panels (which go on the outside of the roof) and durable Kingspan insulation slabs (which go on the inside of the roof) in both 90mm thickness and 24mm thickness. Foil backed plasterboard adds to the insulation, and together, these products ensure that the roof is thermally efficient, and strong enough to cope with anything the British weather might throw at it.

We use high quality glazed panels of glass, which can be shaped and sized according to your design preferences. An insulated bolstered glazing bar within the roof’s structure keeps the glass elements secure.

The installation
Our engineers are highly trained and well used to constructing Ultraframe’s glass and solid roofs. Each Livinroof is purpose designed, so there is minimal waste during the construction process. Our engineers work quickly to remove your old roof and install the new one within just two hours. We then work to reinforce the structure and add any additional features such as lighting and built in speakers. Your new roof will be finished and ready for use within two days.

The appearance
The exterior of your Livinroof will have a stylish matte urban grey appearance. This can be extended to the guttering if you so wish. Inside, you can choose from a vaulted ceiling or a suspended ceiling, both of which are suitable for lighting. The foundations of your conservatory space will remain unchanged, but with the Livinroof the space will look completely different.
